In 2010 Sian embarked on what would have been a year long backpacking trip around the world. Four months into the trip her mother was diagnosed with cancer and she returned home. She visited India, Vietnam and Cambodia, in this blog post she reflects on that trip:

Ode To The Indian Cow

I am most divine,

A holy bovine,

Sauntering through the streets of India.

All traffic must halt,

For the beast you exalt,

Clip clopping through the streets of India.

No Big Mac thus far,

No steak tartare,

Chomping through the streets of India.

Move out of that space,

We’re having a race,

Dashing through the streets of India.

You may not milk me,

(You wouldn’t want to I’m filthy),

Traipsing through the streets of India.

I eat from a rubbish tip,

Knee deep in shit,

Holy Cow in the streets of India.
